Here's a few pics of the deer we killed last week. Me and Ron with the deer dressed and hung. These were all taken by the second evening of the hunt.2 mule deer does and a mule deer buck. My freind Larry and his first bow kill.It was a 32 yard shot down hill. This is actually a yearling that stepped in the way as he released, the doe was a good size bigger. He spined her with the shot and had to put two more into her to finish her off,but I'll get into that later. Me and Ron with his mule buck. Ron with his white tail buck.

DS,we did see some big bucks.Ron and I both shot a big buck apiece but unfortunately both were lost.
Ron put an arrow into a big 4x4 mule buck and we watched him lay down 3 times.A smaller buck with him kept coming back and the big guy would get up and follow him.The big buck couldn't jump a fence and we knew he was in trouble. Finally lost our light and had to give up on him for the night, went back the next morning in pouring rain and looked for 3 hours.A rancher in the area figures two other guys picked him up and tagged him. They were hunting on an adjacent property and probably watched him. There was no way that buck should have got away on us.
On tuesday afternoon I put an arrow into a nice 4x4 whitetail buck, but the wind caught my arrow and it hit him behind the ribs.I was at full draw for over a minute waiting for the gust to subside, the buck didn't know I was there. When the wind went down I released and the arrow was headed right behind his shoulder, then all of a sudden the arrow did what I call a barrel roll and hit him too far back.He bucked, ran about 30 yards, stopped and changed direction.I watched him walking thru the trees and just left him to settle down.Went back in the morning to look for him but didn't get him.Ron said he bumped him out of his bed about a 100 yards from where I saw him last, and he flew out of there like there was nothing wrong with him.
