Went back and checked the stand.....

That I hunted last Sunday. I thought all week about it and decided to go look for a little more sign to decide whether to hunt it this weekend or not.
I was in there a month or so ago and it looked like the trail that has been there for the last three years was all but gone, and after spending seven hours in the stand last week without seeing anything, I was having doubts.
What a difference a week can make!
The acorns are dropping and we saw a lot of fresh sign, and some dandy tracks, so I'll let it settle back down tomorrow and be back in the stand before daylight Sunday morning.

I was back in there this morning, lots of promising sign but still no deer.
I'm going to wait till the leaves are gone or almost gone before I hunt it again.......It's still so green that a deer could pass within 35-40 yds or even closer in some places and I'd never know it was there.
