Arrows for recurve

I bought a 45 pound recurve to bowfish with but like shooting so much I want to take it deer hunting this season....

What kind of arrows do I need? What weight?


I shot some full length carbons through it but they are too light.

Depends on your draw lenght also and weight of your broadhead. Find that out and post back here or look it up on the easton arrow chart.

Not sure if I want to go with a wood shaft.....

My draw length is 29".....and the bow should be pulling about 46 or 47 pounds at that length.

Not sure of what size broadhead to shoot either, probably 145 grainers...........

Ive shot carbons, aluminum and wood out of mine. I have some wooden ones Bucktales made me that Im gonna try to hunt with. I think the heads I have are 140s.

What is the total weight of the ones your shooting?

I aint got a clue. Kip might know since he made them? Might be better to go with aluminum, I was really just wanting them to show off. But after I got em and shot em some I think I wanna try to hunt with them.

With my Easton Aluminum chart you should be ok with 1820 or 2016 Shaft,125gr,head.

I think you will find your draw length will be shorter with Recurve compared to Compound.
