why would someone get life insurance for a toddler or any kid for that matter? this is an ongoing debate kinda thing at work so i'm lookin' for different opinions.

I have a small policy on daughter to cover burial expenses. The policy also allows her to get more insurance after she turns 18 regardless of her health.

SH is right. Many also take out policies that can be borrowed against or cashed in later.
It's a good deal, especially when it allows them to convert it later. It's much less expensive for kids.
It can sound kinda morbid, but it's really not a bad idea at all.

I agree with the others, it's kind of a morbid thought - but it's still a good idea.....just to cover the possibility of funeral expenses. Most Life Insurance policies have "riders" for kids and the cost is insignificant. And if you haven't priced funeral services lately - the "sticker shock" will scare you .
