my grandfather fought in ww2...he died when hm and i were 10 so we never really got to know anything about it and i was wonderin' if there was a way to find out...can i check his records somehow to see what he did and where he went...stuff like that.??

Yep.....check with veterans affairs. You'll need to know his full name and SSN.

what if i don't have the ssn....at this point i don't even know which branch he was in...that i could probably find out from my dad but don't really feel like callin' him and askin'...he forgot my bday so i'm a lil upset with him...i ended up getting a card today but still.

If you find a cooperative soul (HAHAHAHAHAHA) that the VA, you might have some luck without the SSN.
