Are yall tired of me wanting stuff yet? I looked at a new Knight Rolling Block today at Gradys. It was Next G1 Camo with a stainless barrel. They wanted $369 for it. It lists for 419 @ Cabelas. What do yall think? There isnt anything really wrong with my Knight Wolverine, but I WANT one I can shoot 150grns out of, and I cant find the stuff to take it apart with so I can clean it...

I remember you saying that you lost the stuff to take it apart. $369 is a good price on the Rolling Block if that's what you want, but you could find one that will shoot a magnum load cheaper. It all just depends on what you want.

WELL, HERE'S JUST MY 2 CENTS. I'VE OWNED SEVERAL MUZZLE LOADERS, SOME CHEAP AND SOME HIGH DOLLAR ONES. AND SO FAR MY FAVORITE IS THE ONE I HUNT WITH NOW. IT'S AN H&R HUNTSMAN 209 MAG.50cal. AT 175yds I CAN PUT EM, IN A SKOAL CAN AND INSIDE 125yds, YOU CAN DRIVE NAILS. YOU CAN ALSO GET OTHER RIFLE AND SHOTGUN BARRELS FOR IT AND TURN IT INTO ANY GUN YOU CHOOSE. AND AT LESS THAN $150(3yrs AGO), YOU CANT GO WRONG. I USE A 245grn POWERBELT w/150grns OF 777. I'VE SHOT TWO DEER WITH IT AND DIDN'T HAVE TO TRACK EITHER OF THEM. THEY FELL DEAD AS A HAMMER. I'M NOT KNOCKING THE HIGHER PRICED GUNS, THERE ARE ALOT OF GREAT GUNS OUT THERE BUT FOR THE MONEY, YOU CAN'T BEAT THE HUNTSMAN.

Those H&R's are suposed to be renowned for their accuracy right out of the box. I think it would be worth buying a new barrel in a different caliber just to make sure.

The magnum loads are ok, my DISC shoots them. I'm not sure how much better they are than the regular 100 gr loads. I heard somewhere that if you load with 150 gr of powder that the most it will burn is around 120 gr, the rest is wasted.
I can tell you this....you do NOT want to practice much with the 150 gr load in my Knight, your shoulder will regret it the next day. Mine shoots just fine out to around 125 yds with 100 gr, I would take a 150-175 yd shot with it if the situation was perfect.

MY ''HUNTSMAN'' AND THE ''TRACKERII''20ga. with fully rifled barrel. WITH THOSE COPPER JACKETED SABOT SLUGS, IT'S ONE DANGEROUS BUCK-BLASTER. NEVER HAD TO TRACK ONE WITH IT EITHER.

I do most of my hunting w/ the H&R's now.
30-30 for deer, 12 ga for turkey, and if/when I go varmit hunting .223 cal. You can't beat them IMHO.
As for the ML, I would just stick w/ the wolverine and buy new cleaning equip. I love my little SS knight.

as far as the barrel on that NEF rifle, go to graybeardoutdoors.com. they have a forums dedicated to the NEF guns. if you have a poor shooter, and that happens with a gun that is relatively cheap, there are some simple tricks you can try to turn it into a tack driver. some guns are awesome right out of the box, some need a little help. there are even an occasional few that are crap.
