here is a trick to watch.use snow or a white sheet without snow .lay the sheet out about 10 ft in front on your muzzlelaoder.if you get powder on the sheet or snow,you are using too much powder.

Good tip. I'll have to try it. Probably not though. I only use 90 gr of pyrodex pellets.

Having unburnt powder is something that goes on with all guns whether shooting black powder, Pyrodex or modern smokeless cartridge guns. The only thing that excess unburnt powder means there is inefficiency. It could be powder is burning too slowly or your projectile is to light, which is basically the same thing or your powder could've went past its shelf life.
