How can you tell if your gun is building too much pressure? I noticed after I switched to 777 and 209s that the primer would be bulged on some shots. I dont want to hurt my gun, its a knight wolverine.

DS, I believe with the 777 you have to use less powder. If the primer is bulging, I would say your getting too much pressure.

I am using Federal primers, 100grns of 777 (gun is rated at 130grn powder), and 300grn Hornady saboted XTPs.

DS........
The 777 tends to be a little rough on primers ............ that's pretty normal.
In my USAK, using #11Caps - I've had my best accuracy with 300gr bullets using 80gr of 777.
100gr isn't too much for the Wolverine to handle..........but I've found that much powder to be necessary only for bullets in the 400gr range & up.

I took the easy way out and got the pellets....... I have no way to get less than 100 right now.
