Hot a chance to buy a Tikka T3 with the stainless barrel and composite stock in 270cal. Also has the scope rings but no scope and the bolt and trigger have been reworked and man are they smooth, trigger is about 2lbs and absolutly no creep. I know this gun is made buy Sako but is it worth the $575 they are asking for it. I haven't bought a gun in years so don't keep track of their value like I used to.

I think so. Almost any Stainless gun you buy anymore will be over 700.

I own 2, Tikka Mods. 695. One in .270 Win., wood & blue, the other, a 30/06, in black composit & blue. They're the last model prior to the T-3. Both were purchased new, and are slick as slick can be! If the T-3 is anything like them, we're talking Swiss-watch here! I've handled many a bolt-action rifle, and mine are the smoothest I've ever cycled & shot. Personally, I think it would be worth every penny. Fortunately, I got mine at dealer cost, I believe they were $465 & change, plus tax & $5.oo backgound check. Mine came with rings, I mounted a Simmons Aetec 2.8-10X44 scope on each of them. I'm more than satisfied with mine.

Thanks I think I am gonna get it, it was the smoothest handling bolt I have ever picked up. Could have worked the bolt with 1 finger and it still mounted to your shoulder and the trigger had absolutly no creep, and for someone that has used Remington 742s &7400 for 25 years of hunting that will take some getting used to.

Hmm sounds like you have been used to mediocre rifles in the past if the Tikka feels that much different. I very much doubt it's been worked over as they come from the factory smooth. The trigger may have been adjusted as it's an adjustable one.
The smoothest bolt actions I know of are the Manlicher Model 1892, Schoenauer and the later GK models. The Lee Enfield of course is very smooth as well, even the military ones, but the commercial sportes are relly slick ;D.
Good luck with you new rifle.
