Hi All, Not all rifles of course are used for Big Game so #2 I thought I would go for a small game rifle. This is a BSA Supersport Five .22 R/F which uses a 5 shot detachable box mag :- This is the later model with the flat top Dovetailed reciever, early one had a round top reciever and were not drilled for a scope. This is an early version which has had the barrel shortened to 16 1/2" and threaded for the sound moderator (silencer) asyou can see it's my Bunny Basher! Also squirrel rifle

Hi Deerslayer, Well it should not surprise you really as the Grey Squirrel is an import form the Americas. I don't know of anyone who eats them here, these two were cooked, braised and the dog enjoyed them we do not regard them as "Small Game" I only used that as that's what they are known and classed as in the US. Here they are Vermin/pests and have no seasons. In fact you used to be paid a bounty on their tails by the Forrestry commision Our native Squirrel is the Red Squirrel which is much more dainty and right on the edge of it's range in the UK. The Greys have pushed them over the brink and out, only a few places have them now like Scotland and an island in a big bay in the South of England. A few places may have a few but as a child I can remember there being a Red Squirrel Dray in the oak tree in the garden. Rabbits were possibly introduced to the Americas by the settlers, they came to Britian from the Mediterranean Basin.
