Hi All, Right to kick it off, this is the rifle I shot my first ever Deer with. It's chambered in .308 Winchester and has a 6x42mm scope fitted in Steel Hilver rings ( Action top has dovetails machined into it with a recoil arrester as std) I added the barrel band to hold the sling loop. It's a modified Mauser design. Stock finish is a Oiled finish using a kit, it had a hard laquer on it which I don't like so I stripped it an applied this finish, I do not normally like them this shiney though The design has been altered slightly now to make the CZ 550 which you may have seen, not uncommon in the US this one but a nice rifle anyway

Another good looking gun KP. Why did you opt for the barrel band instead of in the forend?

Hi Deerslayer, This is the Standard model and not the delux, the delux model 601 had styling more like that california type of my P-H in the other post, and I prefered the std it's more classical and when my mate in the shop pulled it out of the box and I saw the tiger striped wood, I said it's MINE! Now that forestock is comfortable but it's shorter than the Delux one and the sling swivel was right where my hand wants to be. So I made up the barrel band out of a gas block for a SA80 Bullpup. Yep I was working at a place which made bits of the British SA80 weapon. I then forged it around the barrel CAREFULLY and used a bit of locktight to make sure it can't slip down the taper. Simple really ;D

I wish we could get stuff like that over here half way reasonable. They would probably be in the same price range as a Weatherby....

Those prices arent too bad. I was figuring they would be closer to the $1k mark.

Hi Deerslayer, The CZ's were always a bargin that is until the importers got even greedier they just whacked the prices up by £100 ($180 UD) here so now there is not much price difference between the CZ and the Tikka I brought this on on Christmas eve years ago, I found the reciept the other day whilst looking for something else.
