Hi All,
I traded an English SxS shotgun and came away with a Parker-Hale 1200 in 30-06, it's an older model with a different shaped fore-end to my other 1200. Came fitted with a Tasco Titan 3-9x42 scope in P-H mounts. Needed cleaning and putting back together properly, I think the guy who was selling on a commision basis through the shop took it apart and greased it all up. All the screws were loose and I meann all of them except on the mounts.
I gave it good through cleaning and oiled up the wood, yesterday I cleaned out the chquering, so it's looking good. I sighted it in and with a handload thrown together using Rel 19 and a Speer 165 Spitzer to try it out it puts 4 shots in 1.171" at 95 paces. So I am happy enough with it.
Now I am waiting on the 30-06 dies as this is the first rifle in that chambering I ahve ever had. For now I am using a .308 die to neck size and a Lee 300 WM collet die for de-capping. Seems to work for now. Once I get some photos done I will post one or two.

Hi deerslayer, Wel I like it so far but I will know better once I get the better scope mounts I want on it. Anyway here it is:- Typical P-H alloy floor plate and one panel of chequering under the fore stock due to it's shape. The wood looks a little better now after a few coats of oil and cleaning out the chequering, which was not done when I took these photos It's a pity that the wood is so plain, but that seemed to be the way all the fancy figured stuff was for export Oh this is the later type Model 1200, this one is chambered in 7.92mm (8x57mm) and you can see the typical California styling, scope is a Leupold 2.5-8 Vari X 111:-

Hi deerslayer11,
Thank you for those kind words ;D
Myself I usually prefer the BSA Rifles but felt I needed a couple of Parker-Hale ones to complete the collection like ;D
I have been thinking that perhaps I should do a few posts here about some of my Rifles, they are not really what you would see or find in the US, so may proove of interest to some one.
Hmm what do you think?

Sure. For the most part all you see around here are the run of the mill off the shelf remington, winchester, browning, and occasional weatherby.
