are they realy dule perpious rounds? are they varmet rounds that just sorta work on deer? or are they deer rounds that peple use on vermits?
my take on them they are vermit rounds and most of the time they work on deer but there are alot of better choices for varmets and deer. espicaly for use on deer.

I have a buddy that shoot prairie dogs with a .25-250 and I gotta say......that is a long range tack driver.
I've seen him hit prarie dogs at well past 100 yards and thay just turn to a fine pink mist. Pretty impressive. I don't know that I would ever buy one, it's just not a practical round for me.
As for the 6mm, I just don't know enough about it to comment.

6mm is just a 243 and 25cal is usually a 257. The 25cals are LETHAL on deer with the 117grn bullets. I dont have alot of personal info on the 243s though.

The rare times I hunt with a rifle Its a 243. Ihave taken several seer with it and never had one go more than 40 yrds using a 100gr corelockt. Don't know that I would use it on them 300lb northern deer but it does great on Georgia and Florida deer. We gave my Pa-in-law a 22-250 for Christmas a few years ago, man what a sweet shooting little gun and he as taken several deer with it.

I own a .243 and it's plenty gun for central Tx deer.
Most of my shots have been within 100 yds and I had one run about 75 yds before she piled up trying to jump a fence. I shoot 100gr core-lock and aim for the boiler room.
Most of my deer haven't gone more than 40 yds if they ran at all.

Well I am 7.62x39 now I used to be .223. I don't think it so much the calibre as what you ask of it. Both of those have been sufficent for the shots I have taken down here. Now some of our northern friends with 300+ # or western with those 400yd shots might need more.

I shoot a Rugar #1 25-06 and it works great on deer with the 115 to 120 grain bullet and varmits with the 100 grain.

I hunt with both 25 and 243 calibers..the 25cal. is a wby 257mag which is like shooting a 25cal bullet out of a 7mag case and the wby 240mag which is like a 243 bullet out of a 30-06 case. Both are fine deer and hog rifles..just killed this hog last wk with the wby240mag using Barnes 85gr. XLC's.

Is it legal in your State to kill a hog while he's riding a bicycle? I think that violates several laws in Texas. ;D
