How long do they usually last? The one that came with my boat didnt hold a charge the last time I charged it, Then my other one didnt hold the charge I put on it for tonight. Am I going to have to buy 2 a year? Im going to try them both again, the power goes out a lot here and may have cut the charger off? I have a hard time believeing it did it twice though. Oh and I charge them on 2amps, so it aint like Im doing it too fast? I did manage to shoot one Gar durring the 10 minutes the battery had enough juice to move the boat....

My trolling batteries usually last me 3-4 seasons. You are charging them right, are you checking the water?

I have bad luck with batteries too. I plan to get a battery tender for my boat. I can just plug it in & my batteries will stay hot yr round. I think mine are dying due to setting up all winter without a charge.

Guys, If you would get in the habit of charging your batteries as soon as you get home with your boat, it would make them last a lot longer.
About winter storage
If you would fully charge your battery be for putting it up for the winter it will be fine in the spring, just charge it and go. You my want to give it a check about mid winter to make sure you have a full charge. As long as it's cold outside your battery should hold a charge all winter. Cold temps will not discharge a battery --- The heat of summer will.

I think my main problem is buying cheap batteries. I've been buying them at walmart Both died in less than 2 yrs.I always charge mine after I use them. I try to charge them at least once during the winter.I had a pair of Optimas when I first got my boat. They lasted several yrs. Maybe I need to buy a new pair of these
