I'd never heard of one until the other day I was reading a magazine and found out KY had a new state record. 65 inches long and 106 pounds. We also have a new record for channel cats.......32 pounds.

Ive seen them somewhere, cant remember where? If my memory is right they have a "spoon" Looking bill.

Yep......in some states, they must be released. Usually when they are caught, they are caught on snag lines.

The guy that caught this one was casting a spinnerbait for bass. I bet he was surprised.

We use Big Rods with Big Penn Reels,150-200 pound test line,Big Treble Hooks.
Run up and down the Rivers and Lakes trying to Snag them.Pretty good eating,no Bones.
We also Snag and Gig Suckers.Good eating but lots of Bones.
