Not a bad evening of fishing this past fri. This was my first flathead of 2004 and they seem to be picking up steam with all this warm weather. This bad boy wen 36 1/2lbs. Just thought I would show y'all. Cant wait to get back out on the water. This fish came from a fairly small logjam about 150yds the tackleshop. Caught it on a pretty large live crappie. Tight Lines, Bill

Bro, that is an awesome fish.
You need to learn me how to catch that size flat.
BTW, I still have not forgotten about the shirt. I have the address and the MO is going in the mail this week.

Very nice fish, wish I could catch them around here.
Do you eat them puppies? I heard they were good to eat, but never had it.

Naw, I dont eat them. Although Ive read many places that the flathead is the one catfish species that tastes good even when they are of larger sizes. We usually harvest a bunch of channel cats at the end of the season and have a fish fry with them. Kind of a way to celebrate the passing season. I have far too much respect for flatheads to eat one. It was the first place we hit that night and that fish took off about 1/2 hour after I casted. I really didnt expect that pile of brush to hold any real big ones but I was pleasantly suprised. Hope to post some more in the coming weeks. Tight Lines. Bill

You are lucky, you get to use live bait. We cant use Crappie, Bluegils, or waterdogs. In Arizona i was able to but not here. The only live bait we can use is worms and sand shrimp. Nice looking cat. My largestest is 28 pounds coming out of the Verde river in Arizona.
