On hunt's thread "So I guess its on" I mentioned catching some crappie to use for bait. Me a buddy was invited to the grand opening of a local paylake that has been closed now for about 5 years. The Plan: Use the crappie to lure some big blues into biting. Result: Nothing was hitting live bait. Backup plan: Hope the blues were biting on winter kill, and other dead fish. Result: Thaw some frozen trout out, lop off a very large portion of the fish, and it was ON! This was the first fish. A hard fighting, hard biting, 37lb. 11oz. blue cat. And the second....... Another nice blue cat. This one a bit smaller. Weighing in at 25lbs. 8oz. If the rest of the season runs this well, Ill be a very happy catman come fall...! Peace, Bill

Fine looking cats. If the rest of the season goes like that you'll need a shoulder replacement.
