I'm headed to Santee-Cooper tomorrow with some boys from work. It's supposed to rain most of tomorrow but I think I can still catch some bass in the morning. Then we're gonna try some mullet in the afternoon, some to eat and some to cut up for cats Wednesday.
I'll let y'all know how I did on my first Santee trip when I get back.

Catch em up man. I heard march and april were killer months for cats at santee.

SH you are a lucky man. Im gonna get up to SC one of these days. The catfishing there is legendary. Nail a few big ones for me brother, my big cat huntin' is still about a month off. Geesh....  Bill |

The first time I bowfished santee it was kinda cool. You could see peoples bait and there would be a 25# or so cat and some smaller ones laying all around it and they wouldnt be messing with it. It looked likey the schooled by size, but the larger the fish the less in the group. After maybe 15# they were either only 2 of them or they were alone.

Good luck at Santee. I have always fished it later in the year. Most of the time I did well on catfish and shellcrackers.
There are lots and lots of fish in those 2 lakes!

I caught a 5 pound carp. That was it. Two of the boys with us went out with a guide yesterday and each one a catfish. The weather was great and we had a ball. I've got a cool bald eagle siting to tell y'all about when I have more time.
