I picked up some buzzbaits and a few more spinnerbaits last night that Wally World had marked down. I get home and go to put them in the tackle box and I realize I didn't get the most important thing you need new each year. STRING!( that would be line for northern bro's ;D).
So now I need to go back to Walmark's and get some Trilene. So how many of y'all have already restrung for the prespawn attack? And how many times ayear do you restring?

All live bait rigs(2,4 and 6 lb test) will be restrung sometime this month. Trilene XL for the 2 and 4, Berkley FireLine for the 6. The jig rods get 8 lb FireLine. All of the trolling and bottom bouncing rods get 15 or 20 Trilene XT. The muskie rigs will stay as they are, didn't use them much last year. I'll go through two spools of Berkley Vanish Fluorcarbon for leaders and making spinner rigs. And this was post 100 for me

I usually restring either when I run out while casting long, or it breaks while tightning the knots...

All righty then! I've got my biatcasters all restrung with 14# Trilene XT and my spinning reels restrung with 8# Trilene XL. Let's hit the water as soon as the rain stops.

I just couldnt wait myself. I re-spooled all my baitcasters with 30lb. Silver Thread Exalibur. I just got a new Tica Caiman CM reel that Im eager to try, something a little different for me. I tie on doubled up leaders of Berkley Iron Silk 30lb. for a total 60lb. strength. I got sad everytime I saw my rods hanging out there on the wall with no line on them. I respool all my reels once a season. Oh man, Im ready to get on on some rivers! This weather is killing me! Peace, Bill

I have respooled 2 of the smaller cat outfits already. I got Grandma and Kayla each an ultralight outfit. So they would quit fighting over mine Here is a pic of Kayla spooling up her new rod n reel. Bluegills and Crappie beware ;D

I usually "reline" my reels every other year, since I am not out there every weekend. Always use Trilene XL in the spinning reels, and Trilene XT on the baitcasters. just did all the reels last year, I won't do it again until next year.

I've just restrung my crappie poles. I need to get my bass& catfish rods out & see if they need restringing. I think I did them late last fall. I'll have to get them out & see.
