Had to get away from Frances !

Went through Charrlie,took a prteey hard hit,went over a week without power,load`s of downed tree`s to deal with,so when the Wife said that she was going to leave me if I didn`t get her out of here before Fran hit,I knew she ment it,so I got in touch with a friend that I met through the A.F.Board that lives in Panama City Fla. He told us to Come-On-Up-----The Grouper Flying !

We got up there on Friday,unloaded the Truck and relaxed the rest of the Day,Saturday we got up early,went out and netted up about 200 Pilltrid`s then went to his Grouper Flat`s.It was in 3' of water with 5' hole`s about every 10'....Nothing I would relate with Grouper Fishing ! These Grouper would Launch themself`s out of the water about 3' smashing these bait`s ....Coolest thing I`d ever seen in my life !!!!!!!!

Between 6 of us,we cought 15 Gag Grouper from 20 to 24",5 Flounder,2 Blues,40 3lb Ladyfish, 4 nice trout,with Sun-Burn`s for everyone. We were all useing our Light Rod`s,10lb test line,15lb leader,free-lineing Pilltrid`s.

Didn`t get many pic`s because we were wadeing,but we did get a few:

Like I said,we didn`t get many pic`s because we were up to our chest in water,so if someone went back to the boat they`d take a pic.....Beat the Hell out of sitting around here in the Dark here in O-Town !

Ive read of grouper fishing like that also for jewfish.

I`ve fought Grouper off the Deeper Wreck`s with the Big Rod`s, but fighting them in the Grass Bed`s in 5' of water was something totaly differant for me. Once they are Hooked,they Nose straight down in the Grass and you can`t move them,you just raise the tip of your rod and wait for them to run again,fight them until they nose down in the grass again......10lb line,you can`t horse them in,it`s all Finness !

I`ve seen 20lb Triple-Tail`s jump like that also......Very cool sight !!!!!!
