Whats your favorite saltwater fish to catch and is it also your favorite to eat?
I guess my favorite to catch...if they are running...are spots...a close second would be any shark or maybe snook
my favorite to eat is definitely grouper

I like flounder gigging. Go at night. Use a submersible light. Look for fish shaped imprints in the sand or mud. Stab the fish with a 'gig' (similar to the sticks used to pick up paper trash along the side of the road). Some like to use frog gigs, but I think the barbs tear up too much fish.
Eating, I prefer grouper or shark.

I had a customer in Austin who would go flounder gigging in Laguna Madre. A cooler of beverages and four or five guys and they'd stay out all night.
Always sounded like a blast to me.

Well being closer to the left coast it would have to be salmon. We have 5 or 6 species to catch plus steehead.

You wouldn`t belive how many people I`ve talked to while Fishing who said that they never cought a Snook, even though they`ve lived here all thier lives!!!! Once you catch One,you end up spending all your money chasing them around, always looking for a Bigger One.

I guess you are talking about Inshore fishing....and I love catching trout and spot tail bass, I also love catching shark. I ate some grouper the week before Thanksgiving and it still has me craving for more. That is truly a great tasting fish. But I ain't real picky I eat flounder, croaker, whiting, sheephead also.

Being on the West coast i have to say Halibut and Lingcod are by far my favorite. Then it would have to go to salmon and steelhead.
