The Piedmont Hunt Club leases land from 3 timber companies in 2 counties. They are selling some of the land and when they sell some of the land we have leased, they give us another piece to replace what we've lost. We've lost and acquired another 500 acres in the deal. I went scouting today and rode the roads and trails within the lease. Here is some encouraging sign I found and there's lots more all over the hillsides and ATV trails. One of the least known facts is that turkeys enhabit large areas of pine forest and these areas are overlooked by many turkey hunters, so keep it quiet! These scratchings are light, so they were most likely made by a hen; a gobbler would have scratched to bare ground.
