I am look at buying a shotgun just for turkeys.
which gage would be best the 10 or 3.5 12?

From what I have seen the 3 1/2" 12 patterns better and has more knock down at longer distances.

IMO there are more differences within the gauges than there are between them. You can get a little heavier load with the 10 Ga. though. You will have a little broader selection to choose from with a 12. I know they both kick the snot out of ya.

I shoot a Charles Daly in there Turkey gun 12 ga. 3 1/2 mag 665 Hastings choke, #6 Heavy shot. Patterns great

I would go with a 12 myself. They do pattern better than a 10 in my opinion. Plus I dont know if I could stand putting my shoulder back in place after I shot the 10 ga.
