For the first time. I was a little skeptical about carrying a full size .45 with all 8 rounds in it but it was rather comfortable.
I guess the key is a good thick, stiff leather belt.
The only thing I didn't like is having to draw a full size barrel out of the holster. It's so much easier getting the 3.5 inch .45 out of the holster.

I need to hurry up and get my CCW. I sure feel safer living in DFW being able to carry.

About three years ago, when I stll lived in Fla., I purchased a 5" 1911-A1 clone, made by the now defunked (I believe) Llama Arms Corp., out of Spain. It was almost new & I got some extras in the deal for $300. I have a CCW & I keep it in my Jeep quite frequently, & I must say that I'm very pleased with it. I've always been quite partial to revolvers, but with Wolf 230 grain FMJ's, I can bust gallon-sized milk jugs filled with water out to 50 yards, all day long. I haven't kept this one on my person yet, as I pack a 357 snubbie, but if I can find the right carry rig, I just might.

I like the Bianchi Minimalist for the 1911 carry. It's less than 30 bucks and it will hold my 3.5 and my full size. I have a Milt Sparks Custom on order......8 months for a friggin holster.
I had a Llama Maxi .45 and I hated to let it go. When the guy sold it to me, he said "I'd never trust my life to it". It never jamed one time.....ever. I fed some serious crap ammo through it too.....never jamed.
By the way....Llama went under at the beginning of last year. Very sad.
