Had a gobbler within 50 yards of me on Friday. He had come in from my left silent. All of a sudden he flys up into the tree 20 feet behind me. I couldnt see him but I could hear him flap his wings a couple of times. Finally after about 30 seconds he flew away. I headed in the direction he flew. About 400 yards later I rounded a bend in the road and ol big bird took flight again. He was hanging out 40 ft. up a big pine. At 10:00 in the morning..??!!? I guess he must have wised up and decided that the safest way to find his real hens was from a birds eye view.

They will do that when they think something isnt on the up and up. Specially where they are hunted a bit. Ive seen em up in trees at noon here.
