I like to give a few yelps with five or six clucks with a sexy purr to top it off!

Usually 5 yelps, and some purring. I like to cutt too but learned how on accident. Made em gobble like hell so I like to use it alot. I do like to use clucks in conjunction with purrs too.

cluck.......cluck.......cluck.......purr (maybe)....scratch the leaves. I hunt heavily pressured public ground and not even the hens yelp. But don't tell anyone my secret. I like listen to them walking through the woods cuttin their butts off. ;D Lol your secret is safe with me Kalib. Anymore you want to share we are all ears? ;D

I don't have a favorite sequence as I don't get into a routine. Then again, I use calls most hunters won't recognize as turkey talk such as Whines, Whits, Chee-yhos, Chee-yho-whits, Chee-yho-whills and some I won't tell on the internet. My Hunt Club has a high population of coyotes and the turkeys are hit on from Phase 1, when they first start gobbling. By Mid March, they have entered into the "Scared Bird" routine (silent) and are using the soft, subtled calls mentioned above, when they do call. I become a "scared hen" and mimic the hens. These calls will get the flocks attention and that new bird has to be investigated. Challenging the boss-hen is a 50/50 deal than more often results in a walk-away flock where a soft calling stranger isn't viewed as a threat. Works for me....

Sometimes you're forced to get quiet but i enjoy getting on those really hot 2 year olds and hammering them into a frenzy with cackles and cutts along with aggressive yelps. It really gets the blood pumping!
