I like #4's if the range is going to be a lil longer and #6's if it's going to be a lil closer of a shot!

3.5" copperplated 4s are tops, but I always have some 6s too.

#6's seem to pattern better in my gun. #4's just wouldn't hold tight enough to suit me.

3's cause of dale but i do better with 4's. I have never heard of #3 shot who makes them as I use to use #2s and found that they are a lil too small big and #3 's sound about right! ;D

My Rem.870 SPS-T patterns Win.HV 3in. 1-3/4oz.#5s without the holes in the pattern that the others loads have, so we use them. My shots are averaging about 30 yds, in the swamps/floodplains of SC.
BTW: Did you know that the shell manufacturers use a 26in. barrel @ 30 yds. for their pattern info? That may be the reason our 40yd. patterns never are as good as theirs....
