I've seen some pretty dark ones in the swamps around here but nothing like this. You reckon this is for real? It looks kinda suspicious to me.

I have heard of this before, I think when a deer is black its called melanistic, i remember reading an article in a magazine about it, it said in the article that melanistic deer where just like albinoes but at the other end of the spectrum, where albinoes have no pigment, melanistic deer have like all of it and it makes them black, it also said that they were way more rare than albinoes. That is if i remember it correctly

I've never seen a completely black one on our land but check out this one that my game camera snapped a shot of last month.

there's a young hunter, fairly new to the sport, that took one in PA. the 1st pic i think was taken in TX. Todd, thats a pretty rare pic you have there

Cool pic Todd. Nice rub on that tree in the foreground too.
Got a close up picture of an albino this past weekend. I'll post it when I get it developed.
