our future hunting is in grave danger now. the fish and game commissions will merge this year here in pa. then quietly the [DCNR] will take control and we could have only 1 organization.[DCNR] they do not want [any] deer.they are treelovers not deer hunters or sportsmen. they will do whatever is necessary to get all the deer wiped out ,if they can.its called BIODEVERSITY.IF YOU CAN , READ WHAT IS HAPPENING.TAKE CARE!

I find it hard to believe that there is a conspiracy in the Pennsylvania DNR to "wipe out" the deer herd. Pennsylvania has had an overpopulation problem for many years and most of the hunters living up there have gotten so used to it that they consider it normal. A friend of mine goes up there every year and has been trying to get me to go. He says its unbelievable at the number of deer he sees on the state lands. In 2002 I took a trip up the east coast and about had a heart attack driving through Pennsylvania from almost hitting two deer. Arnt there any public hearings up there where you and your fellow hunters can talk to these DNr folks? I would like to read something from the Pennsylvania DNR themselves as to what they are trying to accomplish. By the way. This year my friend came back with a 6pt. He said he passed up 3 smaller bucks and saw tons of does. Dont have a heart attack yet Commanche. There are still a few left.

there is info on [biodiversity]in those 2 sites i gave you. i believe that they discuss what [dcnr] plan is. its this simple. no deer, 2 racoons, 150,000 birds,2 fox, 2 squirreals,50,000 yotes,no porcupines,no beaver,2 bear,100,000hawks, 100,000eagles,salamanders.frogs,2 rabbits, 2 grouse,2 bobcats, 100,000 elk.this is just a little example, you get my point.[dcnr] plan is to kill off all the deer then in 20 or 30 years bring back the deer if they can.read the [truth] on what has killed the growth in the foresty[acid rain]

I think you are going a little overboard from what I read. Our fish and game commision and marine patrol all merged into one department a few years ago and despite alot of fears I haven't seen any adverse affects.

Commanche, when I read the articles and the PA Federation of Sportsmen Clubs board (nice site, BTW) I see concern that the Humane Society and Audubon Society are involved in restricting access to vehicles to these lands. I'll give you that these two groups would love to keep you from shooting deer, but I get from your post that there is going to be a massive kill-off and I hope you don't believe that will happen.
My advice would be to get your hunting buddies and their wives, kids, parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors, etc and show up at these meetings and let your voices be heard. You are outnumbered, but so are the radical animal rights folks. You'll find that the loudest group will win in many cases. Have you contacted your legislators? Have you elected your lawmakers based on their stand on your hunting priviledges?
Please don't believe for a second however, that your state DNR is going to legislate themselves out of jobs. It's gubbamunt...you can't make it go away and they're dang sure not going to do it to themselves.

Do you have any idea how hard it would be to kill off all the deer in PA?

Fellas, save your breath. Commanche ain't hearin it. You will never convince him that Pa game & fish is not trying to remove all deer form the state. Although I got out of this discussion with him conceeding that he may be right, I truly doubt that is he is. Just got tired of arguing with someone who obviously is set in his opinion.
