First and formost I am a meat hunter but even does have to fall into an area that I am willing to take. My does usually weigh in at 125-145 field dressed. Bucks have to have at least 6 main countable points (Both sides), I do not count brow tines until counting for final total. If there are three longish tines then there must be 4. Most of the bucks I have taken weighed anywhere from 150 - 220 lbs. This state origanally had a buck only law and then you could only take one. That sucked. Now sometimes I think that they are getting too liberal in their bag limits. But lets face it all the people that buy there little miny wooded homes that have deer eat their expensive plants scream at the dnr and legislature to kill more deer to save their precious plants. This year I got two does. Legal limit. Stopped hunting could hahould need ve stayed out to get a buck but that gave us most of the red meat that we will be eating next year. Pork, chicken, still have to be bought.

I guess it would have to be a meat hunter.Used to be we could only kill bucks but they smartened up and opened it for doe in WMU's that needed a reduction in the herd.
I find that a mature doe is just as hard to hunt as a mature buck.

5 or 6 deer will last me the year. During the bow season I only shoot does or big bucks. I let the young bucks walk. Depending on how my bow season goes, I may shoot some younger bucks during the gun season. This year I shot 3 does during the bow season and let 4 young bucks walk. During the gun season I shot one big mature buck and two lesser bucks and let 6 other legal bucks walk. This was one of the bucks that will be around next year. The last time I saw him was 4 days before the season closed. www.hunt101.com/data/500/9545File0022
