DOE HUNTING

i am not against doe hunting if there is overpopulation. i have [never] saw that in 35 years of hunting here in pa.dont ever believe we have more deer now here in pa. than we did 35 years ago. that a bull face lie!sorry i got off track. if a sportsmen was out there culling the old does out of a herd that is overpopulating a area, i have no problem. but from what i see here in [pa] not sou.carolina.thats not what is happening.here is the way things are here. i have a area i grew up in.its state land. we used to have 20 deer in that 1 mile or so to hunt. out of those 20 deer 9 were bucks.we did not shoot the little bucks [spike] or 3 point.when a doe was old, it was shot out.the local sportsmen did this. now we come to today.not many sportsmen around anymore here.in that same area there is 3 deer now,mostly all doe maybe 2 years old max. in come the hunters and kills off all 3 of the doe,1 is a button buck.now they have cleaned the area i hunted all my life of all deer.they did not look for a old doe just meat. they then said to me,commanc we are moving on to another area to kill off all those deer. it makes me mad enough to scream. you see where i am coming from , i hope. its hard for me to be compassionate when my and the kids future is being destroyed by this doe killing here in pa. now. this is truth, believe what you want. state is lying to you.yes, there are deer but its on [private] property not state lands.if you have [private] land and too many deer and you kill off the [old] does, i am with you all but thats not what is happening here in pa. on [state] game lands.i hopei did not offend anyone on doe killing but please understand why i am so mad. and you know, most of the people i here killing a little fawn doe here in my area talk so degrading of that little deer. they make comments like[ i decked] her,i [shot] her 3 times with my 7mm rem mag.i[opened ] fire on them .i [blasted] that fawn.now maybe, you know why i am so mad.i love hunting like you all and want the kids to hunt too.i asked many kids why they were not hunting this year. they said ,commanc,no deer out there to hunt and when we see one its a doe or a fawn.its hard for a kid to get excited to shoot a doe here in pa.our new 4 point restriction on one side will help these kids next year to get that buck.kids like to brag and sit around the fire talking with pappy about the buck that got away and those big horns.they dont sit around now talking about the doe that got away.there is just something about kid and a buck that brings a smile to their face.i hope we dont ever let this not happen cause i was a kid to.

I think we are on the same page now. I hope you are working with an organization (or alone) to get the legislation passed to make sure the population gets to a healthy level in your state. It's ok to rant here or at the local hangout, but unless you get involved there will be no real satisfying results for you.

noonebil, we have been invovled. 9 uncles 5 brothers etc.80 years here at it. thats why you are hearing the [truth] from me,not lies that you are being led to believe by the state here.we tried to stop them 1 year ago. we had over 500 hunters there complaining about the lack of deer here on state lands. they said the forest is more important than the deer.its money for our [oak] trees.its also [biodiversity] you must read that,its shocking.you cant stop them ,we tried. they influence your sportsmen clubs,dcnr,etc.they are going to do what they want.hunting licenses have been going down here,they never discuss that.so now they are putting fees on everything here.no deer ,no one will buy a license so they are putting fees on other things now.we are starting to see as many coyotes now as we do deer.a friend of mine trapped 34 of them last winter here.here is example,you walk into a sporting goods store here and they will tell you[all kinds of deer out there, good hunting]are they telling you the truth?nooooooooooooo.people are being lied to here by our sportsmen club reps,dcnr,state,game wardens,etc.its hard to get the truth anymore unless you see it with your own eyes.thats why i asked if anyone would like to come here for a day or two and we will take a ride ,and look, talk to hunters,stores, etc.it would be a good learning experience,trust me.
