- Hunt or shoot from or across a public road. - Discharge a firearm within 50 yards of a public road. - Hunt from a vehicle, plane, or boat under power.
These are the regulations I could find concerning shooting from a vehicle in Georgia. This leads me to believe that it is OK to sit in your vehicle when it is shut off & hunt on a private road or in the woods. I see nothing particularly wrong or unsafe in doing this but it is a bit lazy. What do you think?

Here in SC it is illegal to hunt from any form of motorized transportation, unless you have medical problems that will prevent you from being able to gain access into the woods. I dont see anything wrong with it, whats the difference between sitting in your truck watching a feild and driving your 4 wheeler RIGHT UNDER your stand? There really isnt one In my opinion. BTW Im not picking on people that drive to thier stands, Ive parked a 4 wheeler under more than one tripod.

I beleive that is the rules here to, alot of the area i hunt here is very open terrain and when we put on drives (no pun intended) I will get in the back of the truck for my stand, and if its raining sometimes ill just get in teh car or truck and just set there like its a stand, i got to check out one of those robots up close and personal at a wildlife show here, it was pretty cool except it had a tiny rack, i bet the caught numbers would soar if they would put about a 150 class rack on it, if they would give me a badge for a week i bet i could catch more poachers then the dnr does here all year.

We can't have a loaded firearm on or in a motor vehicle, that includes boats.Loaded firearm means anything in the magazine, breech or one in the pipe.

they just use a doe here in pa.one guy blew the head off it.the tail wages and ears move.you cannot have a loaded gun in or about a vehicile here in pa. you cant lean a loaded gun on a vehicile also.if you are disabled you can pull over and your vehicile can be used as a blind. the disabled are ruining that now to.people who are [not] disabled are riding with ones that are. they then shoot out the window and if caught say that it was the disabled one that shot.its getting a real joke out there now. its a wonder they dont have more shooting in a car?i never saw so many people desperate for a deer now.poaching is getting bad also.take care and a merry christmas

Here is a thought on all of the poaching and no I do not condone poaching. But what is the employment ratio like in your area? Are there a lot of unemployed due to down sizeing, plant closings, etc. The company that I worked for until I got cancer in now targeting all employees over 50 and with over 20 years of service for layoff, etc. They have even terminated whole sections of workers by getting rid of that department and renameing and rehiring in new employees at lower wages and less benifits. By makeing them all part-timers. Anyway what I am trying to say and doing so badly is if you are out of work and hungry you may resort to poaching to feed your family. What ever happened to company loyalty for employees that based their lives and their family lives on the commitment to a job and company.

most of the poachers here are people that dont like to work.they have rotten teeth and hats on sideways.they smell of cigarrete smoke.they are comfortable doing nothing . dont ever try to tackle one for stealing your treestand.they will bite you then take you to court with a [free] lawyer paid by you.you are right on one thing, [good] jobs are getting scare but these people are not interested in bettering themselves.take care
