I have returned from 5 days of total relaxation. Damn I like going to camp. The weather could have been alot nicer tho. We had 2 days of downpour rain. Followed by 2 days of 10 degrees and snow. I liked the cold and snow part, but not the rain. We didnt see as many deer as we hoped, due to the fact that a new group showed up to hunt the land behind us, and they really liked to pull the trigger. They were shooting every day, all day. They did manage to shoot the 6pt that I watched all through the rifle season, as well as a few does. They were the biggest slob hunters I have EVER seen. Their garbage was thrown everywhere, and had absolutely no respect for anyone else who hunts the area. One was even nice enough to be sitting in MY stand, on PRIVATE property the day I got to camp. We ended the week with 2 does. 1 very nice fat doe, and 1 that I shot. Very small, and sickly looking. It would have never made it through the winter, and was already showing signs of winter starvation. There was absolutely no fat on that deer. My buddy who owns the property had seen it several times, and so did I. He asked me to use my doe tag on it if the chance came, so I did. All in all, a great time at camp, not too bad of hunting, (except for the losers), and lots of relaxation time.
