season doesn't officially end yet but i'm out of permit hunts and i'm not wasting my time by going anywhere else.
at first i was all bummed cause i didn't bring home a deer...at least one that i killed....but last weekend i had alot of time to think about my season.
i learned alot....way too much to mention but i'm thankful all the same.
i admit i got a lil cocky because i did so well last year and this year i thought would be the same but i was way wrong....i had forgotten that there's more to huntin' than just killin' and it took almost the entire season for me to see the light.
i let the pressure and stress basically ruin my season but the last hunt (last weekend) i got to sit back and just reflect....i felt as though i had something to prove to y'all and to everyone at the wma's that i hunt at....i was wrong again. i should have just relaxed and enjoyed every moment instead of worrying about what others would think....
turkey season will be way different.....

I know how you feel FL.Cept I don't have to prove anything to anyone,used to think that way tho. I just enjoy every chance I get to get out in the bush.Our season ended today and I walked away with two deer in the freezer.Good thing I don't have to rely on that to feed the family  I'll still get out to camp for some R&R,we have a couple lakes out that way and we'll do some ice fishing.Also scouted some trees that will make excellent Chrismas trees and will head out there to cut one of them with the family.Haven't done that in years and I'm lookin forward to that. |

You don't have a thing to prove to me ma'am. Chalk this year up to experience and next year just go out to enjoy yourself. Hunting is supposed to be fun, right? Besides you can still come up here and go hunting with the hounds. I'll put you on some hunting that is like crack cocaine. ;D Our season runs until Jan. 11th, let me know. ;D |
