old mossy horns

i passed up 5 buck on sat. here in pa. 3 five points,1 six and 1 eight point with a 18 inch spread. i am after [old mossy horns] this year.he is a 11 point with a 22 inch spread.i did not see many doe this year so far, i think around 17 total in 4 weeks of hunting.archery is over now, gun season starts 12/1.we have the most bear here in the world in clinton county,pa. i got 9 so far biggest was 410 pds.this should be a good year. i have 4 in my yard now at home and one goes 500 pds. if you come bear hunting here,come to clinton county or lycomming county. i think we will break the record on monday the 24 th on bear.take care

just found out [old mossy horns] was shot at night in archery season. he had a spread, i was close of 22 inchs and was 11 point,can you believe that,what a deer .he dreesed out they say at 185 pounds.he was 5 1/2 years old, i thought he was older than that? sad thing is the kid that shot him did it illegally but you cant prove it, only a rumor . i believe he did do it because i never see him out of his car riding the roads.what excitement did he have doing that? none but thats what is happening here now . many bears are being baited in and people are being caught. fine is 500 dollars but they still do it.very sad what is happening now. i wondered why i did not see [old mossy horns] at the end of season, i thought he may be rutting or nockturnal as he has been for years.

Sorry about Mossy Horns. It seems like the people who put the least effort in get the biggest and best deer. Maybe you will be able to find his brother before the season is up.

i think i found his son[baby mossy ] he looks like his dad,he likes the ladies too,ha.he is a 3 point now.thank god 1 is on one side and 2 the other. he will make it thru this year anyhow as we have to have 3 points on 1 side 1 inch long to harvest a buck here in pa. if this program continues as we hope, you should come to pa to hunt next year [if] you are after big bucks.they are going to make bear season the same time as the opening of big buck season. so, you could hunt both while you are here. it should be the week of thanksgiving.expect to hunt hard,high mountains are where the bear and bucks are. it is beautiful here.if you go to southern pa. the bucks must have 4 points on 1 side not 3 as here in clinton county.boy, the racks on deer this year and oh boy next year will be something. that is if we can stop[poaching]

good luck on stopping the poaching....it seems to me more and more poachers are coming in closer and closer to me every year....luckily some new game laws are in place and can help us identify who these people are...then we find out they are gonna cut the number of GW's down to one per county..there is no way this can help...even with the new poaching laws on the books

we have 1 gw for our county.they are going to merge the fish wardens with the game wardens. this should help as now the fish warden can do the game warden duties. it makes sense.fish warden does not do to much in the winter and the game warden does not do much in the summer.they should be on salary not hourly wage too. this would get the wardens out at night more.overtime is killing the game commission here. some make 60,000 a year with overtime

i know how it feels man, last year i was after a beautiful ten point and these guys came in on the property we hunt without permission and shot it, from what i hear it was with a rifle to, it was 21inches wide a beautiful buck, i was so mad when i foudn out but there is nothgin you can do unless you catch em
