Or hunting fenced enclosures. what is your thoughts on this? Do you believe it is an ethical way to hunt no matter the size of the area?

I think some of the ranches in Texas that are 10000 acres or so that the deer would be just as wild because most deer wouldn't travel further than that anyhow. Small places I don't agree with I mean how hard would it be to fence off acouple hundred acres and then pick your deer.

Fenced or not I think all the ones that say 100% guaranteed arent for me. I love to kill deer, but I want it to atleast have some of its natural fears.

I'm not a fan of them if they are small acerage hunts and the game has no or little cover to at least try to hide in or escape.Or has been hand reared or bought as excess animals from zoos, they're more like pets.

welli think a lot of the problems have to do with "hunts" i would call it shooting not hunting espicaly in smaller ares.
now the cannde hunt and high fince are to differnt turms. all together.
high fince inclued big acers 10,000+ and with them i would call it a hunt but may not look at the animal in the same class a a free range hunt.
the canned hunt some time means places less than 100acers so there is a big differance in the to.
any way i dont eaven have probles with the small acers i just look at it like a steer feed lot that alows the custmer to shot his steer.
they are just like livestock and i have no problem with live stock being killed by the owner or the persion they deligate for the duty.
i ant to big on it though but if i had the money i might try some of the exsotic such a cape buff or watter buff.

My idea of "canned" is a guaranteed kill and little or no effort to get it. High-fenced could be more challenging depending on the size of the place and the terrain.
Ethics are largely up to the individual and this individual can't afford to hunt behind the fence. That said, I don't so much mind the idea of a deer in a big fenced area. People have used natural and man-made boundries to their hunting advantage for thousands of years.
But if you can scratch him behind the ears one evening and shoot him the next morning, I don't like that so much.

It's kinda silly to me. Kinda like shooting a cow in the pasture. But if you've got the money and it floats your boat knock yourself out. I've shot these pen raised quail at a local "plantation", shoot I shoulda took my .22 rifle. My daughter could have shot a limit by 10:00AM. I think thats what shooting deer behind fence would be like.
I would like to go to one of those places and see all those big racks in one place. Then I could show them boys how to shoot a yummy yearling doe. They'd be ruined after eating some of that sweetmeat. ;D

The hunts where you pay in advance for a certain 'class' deer are not for me. I ain't into antlers so much. If that's what you want to do, go for it. I wouldn't mind going on one of the 'cull hunts' some of these places have. Same accomodations for a LOT LESS money.

if the land is a great deal of land then i don't have many issues with it...if it's a small piece of land then i tend to massively frown on them...but then again if it's legal then i'm not going to pass judgement...to each their own as long as it is legal.
