I caught a father and son putting stands up on my lease..I don't hunt it..I have the rights only to keep the dog clubs from getting it..They have lived here and hunted that property all their lives..
I have nothing against dog clubs I hunt my brothers in Lee county..I just don't like them turned out on top of me while still hunting and not respectful of my property..
what would you do?

Call the DNR and report them as poachers, then call the sherrif and report them as trespassers. We have a 3 year old law in Georgia that has worked well to get renegades like those guys out of the dog-hunting business. You have to get a permit to run dogs and if you get legitamte complaints against you for trespassing and such you lose your permit.

I don't see the point in leaseing it to keep one group from hunting it.If your going pay the lease and let just anyone that wants to from another group hunt it.Unless you were going to sub-lease it to them. That way you get what you want and some money back on the deal to. I have never heard of someone spending money on a lease just to keep someone else from getting it.But to each his own..But have you though about what might happen if you just let them hunt it.They might invite others to hunt or worse.Seeing their not responsible for the land. What if they just go wild and tear stuff up and your left holding the bag. They might do something that keeps the land owner from wanting to lease to you next year. But thats just my opinion.

it's about 15 year old planted pine...I don't pay a dime to lease it...me and the timber company are the only two owners on this road..I've always watched it and kept people from dumping trash on it..and when they do I clean it up...I signed the papers when lightning struck it this year for the forrestry report then reported it to the company...they thanked me and said I still have the rights to the land...nobody can lease without my say so..the last club that had it tresspassed on my property, cut my trees and turned the dogs out on my road ...they had a stand at my gate...my kids walk to the gate get on and off the bus etc. there..
the people now know I know they are the ones in there back standing me..got stands pointed across the creek towards my home. I do use it for hunting when I get alot of disabled hunters here for my hunt and have nowhere on my land to put them...I feed the deer year round..if anything the deer may bed over there in the pines but they are thinned out now so you can see forever up through there...the first place when they turn the dogs out they head straight to my land..I've seen them run deer up my drive and out my gate and get shot. There is one game warden here, I called him about 10 years ago, he got here 3 hours later and did nothing..

Me and Jamie caught a tresspasser on his dad's land last week. It was pretty clear to him that he wouldnt like himself if he made it back over the line again. Me and Jamie havent even hunted that land in 2 or 3 years. We were TRYING to save it for Hailey.

ever since '94 when we bought this place I still haven't hunted all parts..some of the parts I am purposly saving for the boys when they get ready to take a deer.. my wife..bless her heart hasn't got one yet, but it's not from lack of trying...she of course can hunt anywhere she wants and even guests that come and scout if they want to hunt those areas I will let them...
