Me and the wife were in the back yard before dark and we heard a elk bugle twice! It actually sent chills down my back. The first time it was pretty loud and the second it sounded a little farther away, so I'm thinking it was right on top of the mountain and maybe crossed over the second time. I've got a pretty good idea where it was at so I'll try to get back there before long and see what kind of sign I can find.

That's really cool. Have they been introduced in your area or are they native?
I know they were being introduced in Arkansas and Oklahoma has some too

They were reintroduced into Ky in the late 90's, in 16 counties here in the eastern part of the state........ I just think it's pretty cool to hear one in the same neck of the woods I hunt in. If I were guessing I'd say he was just passing through looking for a cow.
