Just found out today that the 1/4 section we hunt in the bowzone was just sold for the gravel deposits it's sitting on .I hate progress. They're already removing the over burden on the adjoining 1/4 and ours is going under in June. I guess the guy who owns the land is walking away with a few million. All the buildings are just going to be bulldozed and burned.A sad sad day in my books.

You couldn't afford the land that surrounds Calgary, which makes up the bowzone. If everyone here got together to purchase a few acres in the bowzone we still couldn't afford the price.Land is very expensive.
It's not like I don't have any where to hunt,it was just nice to have that place so close to the city.I still prefer going to the mountains and hunting public land.

I know what you mean. My club is in the process of being cut for timber & sold for development. I live less than 5 miles from the entrance. Next year I am going to have to drive an hour to the club I am joining. At least I won't have to woirry about it being sold for development. It is in the Okeefenokee swamp.
