I got a doe this morning at about 10:30.We were'nt seeing much sign so I walked into another valley and rattled without much success.I wasn't paying attention after one series of rattling and a big doe walked out on the cutline a hundred yards from me,before I could get the rifle up she walked into the trees.Ten minutes later another doe walked out on the bottom but was too far for a shot.I moved my location 200 yards down the cutline and rattled again, waited ten minutes and rattled some more. This doe came running out of the trees looking my way,I guess to see what the racket was about.I had an offhand shot on her broadside at a 162 yards(rangefinder). My 243 barked and I watched her buck and kick out her hind legs and run into the trees. I got to where she was standing when I shot her and found dark blood and hair on the snow.Found her 75 yards away piled up in a willow bunch.I took the top of her heart off ;D. Then I found out I left camp without my knife .I was about a mile and a half from there.Walked back and got the quad and my knife and headed back to get her.

Thanks again for the pics and congrats on a nice deer.
I'm always in awe at the size of the deer up there.
