This is my friends first white tail buck, got him tuesday morning. We were out for four days and the hunting was tough .The snow was up to our knees and the game stayed in the bush.We couldn't even get a doe the first two days.Sunday I missed a doe at a 100 yards,no big deal.Monday evening I miss another doe,TWICE .I check my zero, not even on paper at a 100 yards.Check out my rifle and find a crack in the fore stock, damn!. Monday night it starts to snow heavy and the next day is our last day.Larry goes out at about 3 A.M. for a leak and reports that it's snowing so hard he cant see across the valley and decides to sleep in and not go out in the snow.At around 7A.M. I get up and the snow has quit and decide to give it a try anyways. We took a trail from camp on an old siesmic line and lay down an estrus scent trail. We rattle a couple hundred yards up the trail,no responce in half an hour so we move up to an alder and pine grove, set up and rattle again.Wait ten minutes and start to rattle again and grunt.I did'nt even finish the rattle and a buck comes crashing thru the alders and stops at 40 yards looking for the fight.Larry smoked his ass with his 30-06 and that was all she wrote. ;D

Nice buck, congrats to your friend and a good read with the picture.
160# ?? Looks big to me too. The heads on your deer are twice what I'm used to seeing down here.

Knee deep snow?
It's still 80 degrees here. As much fat as the deer here have on em, they don't move much at all.
