I have two. My old one is a Bushnell. I'm not even sure of the model... maybe a 400 or something. It's about 6 or 7 years old and cost $225 at the time. It is great. It'll work in almost dark conditions, rain, fog,,.. anything. My new one is a Scout. My son gave it to me(what I requested) last year for Xmas. It's smaller and fits in my shirt pocket or pants pocket with no trouble. HOWEVER, I found out this AM in a light fog the thing isn't worth a flip. It will not give readings in bad light. I'll still carry it, but if it's ever foggy or raining or snowing I'm carrying my old one.
I move all the time from one tree to another. I may be at 16 feet this time and 25 the next due to terrain, the tree, undergrowth etc. The range finder takes all the confusion and guess work out of the different look from the different places. I usually first thing pick out a ring around me at around 20 and another at 30 or whatever I can get. I pick big recognizeable trees I can guage other things with.

I had one but lost it out in the woods during the bow season. $200 down the drain. It was a bushnell yardyage pro 400.
