Saturday I had aso doe come in at 32yrds and took the shot. Saw glimpses of her running through the thick brush for maybe 100yrds. Wasn't sure how well I hit her so I waited about an hour then got down and found blood and hair for about 50 yrds then it got real scarce. The temps are around 60degrees now and going up quick. Any how long story short 5 hours aand close to a half mile later I found her and by now its almost 80 degrees and was surprised to find the buzzards had already found her and started working on her. They had not done much damage but the flies and yellow jackets were all over her so I left her to the buzzards. Do you think it was spoiled or should I have tried to save what I could. I have hunted long enough to know that losing a deer is something that happens but still feel bad about it.

I shot one and recovered/found it less than an hour later with yellow jackets and buzzards on it. I left it as well. Any thing buzzards are on I aint eating unless im starving. Just seems nasty...

Meat was not spoiled but I understand that seeing a buzzard on your deer does not whet the appetite.
