This is the doe one of my friends shot a couple of weeks ago. She was one of two we saw in two days of hunting, weather has been terrible for hunting here, too warm. He shot her at 80 yards and the bullet took out her opposite shoulder, he's using a 300 Win Mag, 190gr Hornady BTSP. I was spotting for him and saw the hit and the doe bucked and tried to lift her tail and her head was down when she made the jump into the brush. I knew he had a good hit and expected to find her just inside the tree line, not! Got to where she was standing and looked for blood and hair and found nothing, HUH? Finally after 45 minutes I found her piled up under a log 75 yards from where she was shot. I couldn't believe she got that far on that busted up shoulder and no lungs. Anyways we were glad to find her and then we had a mile and a half drag back to camp, only took us an hour and a half and got to camp just in time for it to start snowing hard, 2 inches of snow in 30 minutes .
