I don't know where to start...... My wife's cousin went hunting with me last year for the first time. I could tell he absolutely loved it even though I killed a buck and he didn't. He loves the meat as much as the hunt so he bought himself a .308 and a crossbow, shot them a few times over the summer and in his mind was prepared to kill some deer this year. His father-in-law owns several 40-60 acre plots around here that they say there are deer on but I never imagined, it's mostly open cow pasture, chicken houses, and what trees are on the land are deep ravines and thickets. It was one of these ravines where me and Dalton saw the 130" buck that Dalton missed and the doe that he killed. Today on his way to work, Cuz looked out across one of the pastures (they live on one of the plots) and saw 4 bucks. He went back to the house, put on a camo shirt and got his crossbow. He drove to one of the thickets he saw the deer near and the bucks were bedded down. They stood up, he got out of his truck, cocked his bow, and spine shot this buck... Attachments:

Any guess on score? This is not the deer Dalton shot at yesterday. Dalton's buck was a good bit wider, not as tall but just as heavy if not more. Plus, it was 7 miles as the crow flies from where this buck was shot. Attachments:

Big bucks hanging around farms in close are not unusual. I don't how stories I've heard over the years of some monster being taken right behind the barn or the chicken house or the tractor shed.

Yeah, I bet for every 1 monster buck that is killed by scent control, camo, scouting etc. there are 5 killed buy dumb luck.

Yeah, I got to put my hands on it yesterday. I'd say upper 130's/lower 140's
