Was a blast. Couldnt have picked a better group of guys to hunt with. The first afternoon we were there once again I let a mack daddy get by me. I had been watching the 6 does I saw almost every afternoon and right as it got too dark to see good they wondered off to my right. I saw a big bodied deer runnin them and it grunted once before coming out on the roadbed 12yds from me. I forgot my Steiners so I had to try to see the rack through my rangefinder... I bleated and it turned and I could see a BIG main beam, but that was all I could see. I decided to not shoot and hope he would come back through...
I cant remember what day it was, but they were running does hard... I saw 3 8s, one was a shooter, but about 250yds away... The 10 I should have shot, and a couple smacks. You could hear chases everywhere in the oak leaves.
Walking out to the 4 wheeler twice I saw shooter bucks in the AM.
Saw a BIGGGG bodied deer once out in a field walking a fence row. It wouldnt pick up its head, but I had a hard time telling where its body stopped and its neck started.
One day I saw 30 deer in the AM and 20 in the PM. A couple 8s, a couple spikes, and the big 6 that had to be 19" wide. I still kind of wish I had shot it.
