Was out for the bow opener on monday with a freind and my nephew. We were looking for a bull moose but they weren't cooperrating .Was pretty warm and the elk and moose are still higher up.We got out of that zone and headed for another that produces a lot of white tail.At 2:00 P.M. my nephew got a shot at a nice 4 point,8 point for you guys ;D.He got a little excited and used the wrong pin and the arrow went beneath the bucks chest, this was his first shot at an animal with a bow. He's pretty stoked about it and can't wait to get out again.I'm taking him with me on our elk hunt next week. An hour before dark my buddy shot a nice 5 point buck at 40 yards. It's still in full velvet with no blemishes, should make a nice mount. We rough scored it 153 inches.Coming out a mile down the trail a cranker buck stepped out and stood there watching us but nephew wasn't quick enough and didn't get a shot. Not a bad opener.
