How many 'managed' acres do you feel is nessecary to hold deer?
I'm talking about if everything around you is 'improved for human habitation' (paved, houses, etc).
The kind of land I'm talking about would be maximized for deer habitat (foodplots, thickets, etc).
This is all theoretical of course.

What do you mean by "hold"? I have hunted in places that were about 10 acres in between subdivisions before. The biggest problems I saw was that all the kids wondered around in the woods like all of us did when we were kids.

I'm talking about land you would find deer to hunt. Of course the ideal are would be private land surrounded by a management area. 10 acres would probably be on the small side for deerhunting unless it were undisturbed otherwise.

Best stand I ever had was on a 2 acre lot. Across the street and both sides where full of houses but it connected a 20acre swamp to undeveloped land on the other side of the creek that was the southern boundry. Couldn't sit that stand without seeing deer, got my first bow kill there. Only got to hunt it one year before it got sold.
