I was browsing in the military section at our local Books A Million and actually found two good ones for a change.
"Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" While this was released durring the war so some stuff has been changed around or mistated it is still a worthy read. Most of the book is the most severly injured fliers strugle to make it back to the US from China.
"Samurai" This is the story of Japan's highest scoring ace to survive the war Saburo Sakai. From his brutal training in the '30s, through early success in the Pacific, to the final decline and desperate days of Japan, this book does well reveal atotally foriegn culture and mindset.
