This is a big barr hog I caught about midnight one evening earlier this year. My young red Fla Cur dog found and stopped him but couldn't hold him. The big hog hit the red dog like piledriver sending him flying thru the air end over end repeatedly but the Cur dog would get back to his feet, run him down, and try to catch him again. Another Cur dog finally came in to help and also got knocked into next week. The two dogs together could not hold the big hog and it turned into a running fight. The hog ran and fought, ran and fought, until a third dog heard the commotion and came to help. With three dogs on him the big hog hit the marsh trying to fight the dogs off but with three powerful dogs hanging on his head, he was finally held. When I caught up to the fight they were in knee deep water with a 10 ft gator swimming slowly toward them about 30' away. The hog was still slinging dogs around when I finally got my hands on his hind legs and tried to get him off his feet. A couple of my hunt buddies got there to help and we managed to get him thrown off his feet . A quick move with a Case pocket knife and the fight was over. The dogs were cut and beat up but no permanent damage and were hunting again after a few days rest. Dave1
